Active Bodywork and Trigger Point Release

Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently if addressed through musculoskeletal release. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles. To address this, our musculoskeletal release incorporates three types of release: functional muscle release, myofascial deep tissue work and trigger point release.

What makes musculoskeletal release different from other techniques?

The difference between musculoskeletal release and other techniques is that during your session, you’ll actively move the affected structure (muscle or ligament) while your New Hope Natural Wellness practitioner presses or maintains contact on the area of discomfort. This allows the practitioner to feel the structure as it moves under their contact, and to effectively treat those restricted muscles, tendons or ligaments.

Who might benefit from active bodywork?

Over 500 specific moves make up the treatment protocols, allowing your practitioner to tailor treatment to your unique needs. Individuals who may benefit include:

  • Athletes, both recreational and professional
  • Chronic pain patients with symptoms mimicking an overuse syndrome
  • Anyone who has not been able to find relief through conventional therapies
